From November 19 to 22, the Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) delegation embarked on a visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, intending to explore strategic business opportunities in sectors such as Greentech, production, distribution, and sourcing. Throughout their trip, the delegation actively participated in a series of impactful events to connect with the local business landscape.
The visit commenced with a briefing session organized by AHK Vietnam, where the delegation gained valuable insights into Vietnam's current economic climate. This session provided a strong foundation for their subsequent activities and engagements.
One of the highlights of the trip was the series of company visits, first of all to FRIWO. FRIWO is a renowned company specializing in the development and production of power supply units. This visit allowed the delegation to closely examine the technical and country-specific requirements involved in the manufacturing process. After that, the delegation was welcomed at TAVICO's factory, a key player in the wood processing industry. TAVICO showcased its proficiency in sawing and drying logs, as well as its global supply chain for wood materials. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to observe their legal distribution center for wood materials at ICD Tan Cang Long Binh, which highlighted TAVICO's significant presence in the industry.
The next destination was LILAMA2 Technology International College. The school trains and provides highly qualified technical personnel to serve the development strategy of the construction industry and the southern key economic region. As part of international integration, LILAMA2 has gradually introduced innovative training programs for the following professions since the beginning of 2004: Mechanical Manufacturing Technology, Welding Technology, Piping Installation Technology, and Industrial and Control Electrical Installation. A pivotal event during the visit was a roundtable meeting with German enterprises, moderated by Marko Walde, Chief Representative of AHK in Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos. The meeting aimed to foster information exchange and collaboration between the German business community in Vietnam and the NRW delegation. Discussions centered around economic and trade relations between Germany, NRW, and Vietnam, as well as addressing the opportunities, challenges, best practices, and recommendations for conducting business in Vietnam. Besides the roundtable, the delegation was brought on a tour to German companies located within the Deutsches Haus Building, gaining practical insights into their operations.
